The City of Columbus has embarked on a series of construction projects at all 3 water treatment plants to increase capacity and enhance the water quality provided to the City and neighboring residents.  Come join the Engineers Club of Columbus at Columbus' Dublin Road Water Treatment Plant and hear about the process the City went through to choose the systems best suited to increase water quality and upgrade the capacity of theplants.  You will hear from 3 key people involved in the design and construction at the Dublin Road Water Treatment Plant.

Mark Eppich, PE: Project Manager for the Division of Water.  Mark has been involved throughout the design and now the construction of the improvements at DRWP.  Mark will review the need for the improvements and the choices made during design to select the improvements best suited for this site.

Dean Ramsey, PE: Design Project Manager for CH2M Hill.  Dean led the design team that evaluated the different processing options to determine the best fit, developed the plans for the improvements and set the sequence of construction breaking the work out into 5 separate construction contracts.

Tony Kohler: Plant Manager at the Dublin Road Water Treatment Plant.  Tony will review the pre-construction capacities and needs of the Plant and the challenges of running and maintaining an operating plant during a major construction project.

Following a box lunch and presentations by these gentlemen, we will be taking a walking tour of the site for those interested to give a brief overview of the current construction activities.  Due to this being an active construction site, personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, vests and work boots will be required for those wishing to take a tour.  We will have some PPE items available but not enough to accommodate everyone so please bring your own PPE to the luncheon.
